Livingstone’s Travel Magazine
Since the first edition of Livingstone’s Travel Magazine was launched in January this year, life as we know it has changed considerably.
On the 29th January, the first cases of Coronavirus were confirmed in the UK. Some weeks later, social distancing measures were put in place, and as I write this, we are in our second stretch of a full lockdown.
Coronavirus has of course had a huge effect on the travel industry, with countries worldwide closing their borders and many passenger aircrafts being grounded for the foreseeable. We’ve already seen the likes of Flybe fall victim to the pandemic, and can only hope that many more do not follow.
Amid the uncertainty and by way of approaching the situation with sensitivity, it did not seem right to release another issue of Livingstone’s Travel Magazine. We are saddened by the impact this has had on what were due to be the exciting first months of our journey, but remain optimistic about the future of Livingstone’s Travel Magazine and the industry as a whole.
If there is one thing the pandemic has shown us, it is how closely connected the world truly is. And we will always believe that to be a wonderful thing. When we feel it appropriate, we will be delighted to share the next issue with you. And, in light of the current situation, we will be introducing a UK Travel feature to the magazine. So that you can still find immersive travel inspiration, even if you have to stay closer to home a while longer.
But, until the roads, skies and oceans open once more, we would simply like to wish all of our readers and partners across the world well.
Stay home, stay safe, and subscribe to future escapism.
